The Stations of the Cross: A Way Toward Wholeness
C.G. Jung described individuation as a process of bringing the ego into a creative relationship with the Self. It often requires the ego’s surrender of its position of dominance in the psyche, which is commonly experienced as suffering—depression, loss of meaning, and feelings of failure. A metaphor for this “passion” of the ego can be found in the Stations of the Cross, medieval meditative shrines depicting Christ’s Passion. We will explore the rich symbolism of the Stations of the Cross and their psychological meaning for our modern day “passion of the ego.”
Photographic images of Stations of the Cross sculpted by renowned German artist, Helmut Lutz, will be shown. These exquisite stations are found in Schluchsee, Germany in the Black Forest region.

In these times of global, economic and spiritual crisis, we are desperately in need of new visions, new perspectives, fresh thinking, and spiritual nourishment. Brigit of Ireland - goddess, saint, muse, folklore figure - whose traditions are rooted deep in the culture of Old Europe, is now emerging afresh to inspire, challenge, and birth a new spring. This evening event will present an overview of Brigit’s wisdom.
Mary's first Guelph workshop on On February 13th 2010 10:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. Mary Condren who has resourced and organised Festivals of Brigit for over twenty years, will lead us in an experiential workshop “ Brigit: Birthing a New Spring for our Time” to be held in the auditorium at Norfolk United Church, 75 Norfolk Street Guelph, ON $70.00 plus G.S.T.
In Ireland women-centred spiritual traditions bubble under the surface awaiting new forms, interpretations and embodiment. Brigit’s stories and the traditions of her wisdom, excavated by Mary, awaken ancestral memories. Come and hear stories, make crosses, and chant the songs and rounds used now to weave the rituals of the Festival of Brigit in our time.
